River's Den

Personal Update

There's so much going on that I can bearly keep up with sleep, let alone writing about things.

Banff

Recently, we've been to Banff and saw Lake Louise, as well as Mirror Lake. Inkpots, small ponds with colorful mineral pigment coming from underground, were also impressive.

What a view! Not something I'm used to in Saskatchewan prairies

MSN

I joined Escargot, a project aiming to revive old means of online communication like MSN, AOL, and ICQ. I had lots of fun, and considering dedicating an old laptop to a retro-ish setup with Vista on board.

To me, the design of this OS was ahead of its time, and Windows never looked more beautiful. Well, I'm not disregarding 9x either, for 95 to Millenium Edition were my first operating systems.

If you're on Messenger, I'll be happy to chat ^^ riverfox@escargot.chat

Social Networks

A week away (mostly) from the Internet has made me reconsider whether I want to be as active on social media or not. Touching grass for such an extended period of time, for me, as a chronically online person, has been quite insightful.

Suddenly, I noticed how much mental space my smartphone and all the information and people in it takes. When my attention got cut off, I started realizing things happening around me IRL, and it felt pleasantly refreshing.

I ordered a Mudita Kompakt, and hopefully it will help me stay more present in the moment. After all, it suites a fox better than Internet reality.
