My reading timeline and book lists.
Overall, I wouldn't say the book was too relevant to my life. John's illustrations explain well what not to do, and I was fortunate to have good colleagues and managers throughout my work life. Yet, I feel like if someone follows most of his recommendations, they'll end up in a vicious loop of the grind. There are a couple of ideas I find relatable:
Picked up this book to read about it/its pronouns which I happen to use. There was a small Q&A section on Pg. 118 but it made me feel so seen: "Someone who has it/its pronouns might be saying they do not identify with a conventional human gender system, or they might be either reclaiming or playing with the dehumanizing aspect in some way". Just wonderful <3
